A salon in Iqaluit, Nunavut, is looking for someone whose main specialty is lash extensions. Be clear about what that means: Iqaluit is not accessible by road, the cost of living is high and the climate is demanding. In return, housing is heavily subsidised, relocation is supported and the clientele is loyal.
Private room in a shared house at 750 $ per month, where the local market is around 1 500 $. Relocation assistance is also provided.
What you will do
- Lash extensions and refills, the most sought-after skill for this role
- Facials and waxing
- Manicure and pedicure
- Makeup
- Massage
- Advise clients without pushing sales
What is required
- At least one year of lash extension experience
- Esthetics training or experience, a significant asset
- Autonomy, as the salon runs with a small team
- Functional English, as the clientele is mostly English-speaking
The conditions
- Flexible schedule: you choose your start time as long as you work eight hours
- Salon opens at 10 a.m., except Saturday at 8 a.m.
- Lunch break at a time of your choosing
- Sunday and Monday off
- Schedule adapted if you need to drop off or pick up children
- Hourly wage for the first three months, then 40 % commission
