Privacy policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information, in line with Quebec’s Law 25 on the protection of personal information.

Who is responsible for your information

What we collect

If you are an employer: company name, contact name, email, phone, position to fill, number of openings, city and province, work shift, wage offered, required certifications, hiring timeline, previous international hiring experience and company size.

If you are a candidate: name, email, phone, trade, city and country, immigration status in Canada and permit expiry date where applicable, mobility, total and Canadian years of experience, certifications and diplomas, skills, French and English levels, driver licence, resume, and year of birth only when you live outside Canada, in order to check eligibility for International Experience Canada programs, which have an age limit.

We also record the page your request came from, the display language and any campaign parameters present in the address you visited.

Why we collect it

To assess your request, determine which recruitment or immigration routes apply to your situation, reply to you, present profiles to employers when you are a candidate, prepare the required files with the authorities when you mandate us to do so, and keep our agency records as required.

We do not sell any information. We do not use it for targeted advertising.

Your consent

By ticking the box on the form, you consent to us keeping and using this information for the purposes described above. You may withdraw that consent at any time by writing to info@immigraffaires.ca. Withdrawal does not undo steps already taken.

Who we may share it with

Employers we present your application to, with your agreement and in anonymised form at first. The competent authorities when an immigration file is opened at your request, in particular Service Canada, the Quebec immigration ministry and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Our hosting and email providers, solely to operate the service. We require equivalent protection from them.

Where it is kept

On our website hosted in Canada, in our internal management system and in our professional mailbox. Some providers may process data outside Quebec; where that happens, they are bound to comparable safeguards.

How long

Employer requests are kept for seven years after the business relationship ends, in line with record-keeping obligations. Applications are kept for three years after the last contact, then destroyed, unless you ask us to remove them sooner.

Your rights

You may request access to your information, its correction or deletion, or withdraw your consent. Write to info@immigraffaires.ca stating your request. We reply within thirty days. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

Cookies

The site uses cookies necessary for it to work, along with audience measurement tools that produce aggregate statistics. You can block them in your browser settings.

Security

Access to files is limited to those who need it, exchanges with the site are encrypted and workstations are password protected. No system is infallible, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we would inform you without delay of any confidentiality incident presenting a serious risk.
