Nature of the services and mandates

Recruitment and paid immigration representation are two distinct services, governed by two distinct mandates, even when coordinated within one project. Paid immigration representation services must be provided by an authorised person; in Quebec this includes lawyers who are members of the Barreau du Québec, notaries who are members of the Chambre des notaires du Québec, and consultants registered on the applicable register.

Visiting this site, submitting a form or sending a résumé does not create a lawyer-client relationship, a representation mandate, a recruitment mandate, or any obligation to present an application. A mandate begins only once the applicable terms are accepted and, where relevant, a service contract is signed.

Government decisions

Immigraffaires supports its clients in preparing and submitting their applications. Any decision concerning an immigration application, a labour market impact assessment, a Quebec acceptance certificate, a work permit, a visa, a selection or permanent residence rests exclusively with the competent government authorities.

No positive outcome, processing time or priority treatment can be guaranteed by using a representative. The final hiring decision always belongs to the employer.

Scope of the information published

The information published on this site is general and does not constitute legal advice. Eligibility for a program depends on, among other things, the candidate’s profile, citizenship, experience, qualifications and status in Canada, the position, the wage, the working conditions, the employer’s situation and the rules in force. An individual assessment is required before recommending a program or a strategy.

Criteria, fees, timelines, policies and intake periods may be changed by the authorities at any time. Immigraffaires applies the rules and procedures in force when a file is processed. Pages dealing with programs carry an update date.

Commercial terms

Every recruitment or immigration project is covered by a service proposal or a tailored contract. Fees, payment terms, the length of the trial period, the conditions and exclusions of any guarantees, government fees and other applicable disbursements are set out in the signed contract.

Where a recruitment, replacement or follow-up guarantee is offered, its duration, conditions, exclusions and the client’s obligations are set out in the contract. A commercial recruitment guarantee never constitutes a guarantee that a government application will be approved.

All content on this site — text, structure, layout, illustrations, photographs, logos and trademarks — is protected by applicable intellectual property law. Any reproduction, representation, adaptation or exploitation, in whole or in part, without prior written authorisation is prohibited.
