The salon and the role

Immigraffaires is recruiting an experienced hairstylist for a neighbourhood salon on the Plateau in Montreal. The salon takes a personalised approach: stylists take the time to understand each client’s preferences in order to deliver quality service and a pleasant experience. The team is professional and welcoming.

What you will do

• Perform cuts for men and women, including mid-length cuts
• Carry out colouring and highlights
• Provide hair care services, including shampoo and scalp massage
• Advise clients according to hair type and style
• Deliver attentive, personalised customer service
• Keep the work station clean and tidy

What is required

• Experience cutting hair for both men and women
• Good command of the various cutting techniques
• Experience with colouring and highlights
• Comfortable with different hair types and styles
• Excellent customer service skills
• Professional, welcoming, autonomous and attentive
• Valid authorisation to work in Canada

The conditions

• Wage from $16.60 an hour, negotiable based on your experience
• Tips, which make up a significant part of the income in a busy neighbourhood salon
• A commission-based arrangement is also possible, to be discussed with the employer
• Day shift, the salon opens at 9 a.m.
• Flexible schedule based on your availability and commitments
• Possibility of working some weekend shifts
